Postcards for your uncle

These are a collection of postcards that I found in a little second hand shop near Brick lane. They are all beautifully embosed and I couldn't resit buying them all!

Dungeness

We were taken to a place in Kent called Dungeness and were told so get into groups and find an area of 10x10m that we found interesting. We had to record it in any ways we wished and then produce a response in the next two weeks! It was a very strange town, all that was there was lots of beach with the occasional house, a military base, a power station, two pubs and lots of wind! These are just some of the many photographs of the place which I took during the day.

Digital City

The brief: to explore the aesthetics, structure, human interaction or architecture of London.
I decided to explore the lack of personal space in London and the confinement of overcrowding.

Liverpool

This is a photograph from the Liverpool Cathedral, the luminous type seemed so out of place amoung all the ancient bricks and delicate pieces of glass; it reminded me alot of Jenny Holzer.

I really love all of the deatil on these casses which I came across in Liverpool, i've no idea who made them or why but think they are really beautiful.

Trapped like a trap in a trap!

I thought i would begin my blog by showing some of my favourite images that I produced during my foundation year in Brighton. They are based on a quote by Dorothy Parker, "Trapped like a trap in a trap." I created these images using a very simple black and white setting on my old camera phone and printed the words that I wanted to use onto sheets of acetate. I then held these sheets over my sister while she was holding her breath under the bath! I then managed to drop my phone into the bath so am very lucky that I was able to get hold of the images!
